Dr. Abdelnasser Elzouki

Abdel-Naser Elzouki is a Senior Consultant in Internal Medicine. He is the Chief of Internal Medicine at Hamad General Hospital and the Chairman of the Corporate VTE Committee at Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), Doha, Qatar. He holds the position of Professor of Medicine at the College of Medicine, Qatar University, and Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College-Qatar. He is the Clerkship Director of Internal Medicine at Qatar University College of Medicine. He has completed a Fellowship in Quality Improvement and Patient Safety (QIPS) and has received the “Best QIPS Project” award multiple times.
Professor Elzouki has more than 30 years of professional experience, and his areas of expertise and clinical and research interests include internal medicine, diabetes, and liver & metabolic diseases and their related disorders, including obesity, hypertension, and dyslipidemia. He has extensive experience in medical education and teaches post-graduate residents, fellows, and undergraduate medical students. He has received awards and honors (the “Best Teacher Award”, the “Excellence in Clinical Care Award”, and the “Best Physician”) several times. He is the Federation lead of the Royal College of Physicians-UK in Qatar for PACES exams, an examiner for MRCP-PACES exams of the UK, and an official OSCE examiner for the Arab board and Qatari board for Internal Medicine specialty.
He has published over 230 articles in peer-reviewed medical journals and written five book chapters. He is the editor-in-chief of LJMS, an editorial board member, and a reviewer of several international medical journals.
