Dr. Ken Masters
Associate Professor, Medical Informatics

Ken Masters is an Associate Professor of Medical Informatics in the Department of Medical Education and Informatics, at the College of Medicine and Health Sciences, Sultan Qaboos University, Oman. He has been involved in Health Informatics and Education for more than 20 years, and has published widely in both areas, recently more focused on Artificial Intelligence. He serves on the Association for Medical Education Technology-Enhanced Learning Committee, is an Associate Editor of Medical Teacher, and on the AAMC’s International Advisory Committee for Artificial Intelligence.
Related to AI in HPE, his publications include “Artificial Intelligence in medical education” (2019), “Ethical use of artificial intelligence in health professions education” (2023), “A checklist for reporting, reading and evaluating Artificial Intelligence Technology Enhanced Learning (AITEL) research in medical education” (2024), “Preparing for Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) in Health Professions Education” (2024), and “Artificial Intelligence in Health Professions Education Assessment” (2025).
