Dr. Amina Slimani-Fersia
Lead Clinical Pharmacist in Primary Care

Dr Amina Slimani-Fersia is a distinguished clinical pharmacist and healthcare leader based in Scotland, known for her expertise in primary care pharmacy, medicine safety and education and training. She graduated with an MPharm from the University of Nottingham in 2006 and completed a PhD at the University of Dundee. She started her career in hospital pharmacy before moving to primary care, where she gained her independent prescribing qualification and led pharmacist-run clinics. Amina also worked as Education and Training Lead in NHS Borders.
Currently, she serves as Lead Clinical Pharmacist for Primary Care at NHS Fife, where she plays a key role in developing pharmacotherapy services and promoting multidisciplinary collaboration. She is a Scottish Quality and Safety Fellow and an active member of the Health Foundation’s Q community.
Elected to the Scottish Pharmacy Board of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society in 2024, she advocates for advancing pharmacy roles and fostering collaboration across Scotland. She co-chairs the Scottish Practice Pharmacist and Prescribing Advisers Association (SP3A) Practice Pharmacy Subgroup and is an Advanced Practice Champion for NHS Fife. Passionate about pharmacy advancement, she continues to lead clinics, mentor pharmacists, and engage in quality improvement and research to enhance patient care.
