Dr. Alla El-Awaisi
Advisor to the Vice President for Health and Medical Sciences

Dr. Alla El-Awaisi is a globally recognized leader in pharmacy and interprofessional education (IPE), with over two decades of impactful contributions to health professions education and practice. She holds a Master of Pharmacy from Strathclyde University, an MSc in Prescribing Science, and a PhD in IPE from Robert Gordon University, UK. After nine years in clinical pharmacy practice in Scotland, she transitioned to academia, serving as a faculty member in the College of Pharmacy at Qatar University. She also held key academic leadership roles, including Assistant Dean for Student Affairs (2014–2022) and Director of Clinical Operations and Engagement (2022–2025).
In 2014, she founded the Interprofessional Education Committee, which led to the launch of the IPE Passport Program in 2020, an innovative framework for the integration and assessment of IPE. Dr. Alla is also the founding leader of the Arab Network for Interprofessional Collaboration (ANIC) and, in 2022, was appointed to the Board of Directors of Interprofessional.Global.
Her research spans IPE, patient safety, and pharmacy and medical education. In recognition of her achievements, she received numerous awards including the “Professional Achievement Award” at the Study UK Alumni Awards 2019–20 in Qatar. She currently serves as Advisor to the Vice President for Health and Medical Sciences and Head of the IPE Program at Qatar University, shaping health professions education and fostering global collaboration.
