Dr. Samya is a Senior Consultant, Family Medicine and Assistant Managing Director of Operations & Clinical Affairs at PHCC. She also serves as the Deputy National Lead in NHS3 for two outcomes: “Excellence in Modernized & Holistic Care Models Pathways & Standards Outcome”and“Excellence in Secondary and Tertiary Care Outcome.”Additionally,she is the Co-Chair of the Integrated Care Task Force and the Deputy National Lead for Mental Health & Wellbeing in Qatar(NHS2).
Dr. Samya is the President of the Qatar Family & Community Medicine Society. She also holds the positions of Assistant Professor of Family Medicine in Clinical Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College and Clinical Associate Professor in Family Medicine at Qatar University. She oversees 31 HealthCenters, leading innovative community health interventions, including the New HealthCenter Program and population health screening for early identification and management of diabetes and other non-communicable diseases.
Dr. Samya implemented the Family Medicine Model across all PHCC health centers and introduced 24-hour urgent care and Regional Specialist Centers. She played a pivotal role in the national COVID-19 response and chaired the FIFA World-Cup Community Services Tactical Command Group. She has authored/co-authored numerous publications on various topics including Covid-19,diabetes,non-communicable disease, mental health, epidemiological health and medication management.
